Bellewood Golf Club

Bellewood Golf Club — North Coventry Township, Pennsylvania

Bellewood Golf Club stands as a testament to Tom Drauschak’s complete-vision approach to golf course creation—where land planning, engineering, architecture, and artistry meet.

Built on the historic Gruber Estate, Bellewood was not a golf course before Tom’s involvement. He conceived and designed the golf course, and—through his company—constructed the entire 18-hole championship course and practice facility from the ground up, transforming the former estate’s rolling farmland and wooded ridges into one of southeastern Pennsylvania’s most admired private clubs.

As both master planner and builder, Tom prepared the full course design, directed his staff in all grading and drainage engineering, and personally coordinated every stage of permitting, zoning, and agency approvals. He and his company oversaw every aspect of construction—earthwork, irrigation, shaping, greens and bunkers, grow-in, and final landscaping—delivering the entire project from concept to completion in under twelve months, on budget and without a single extra cost beyond the contract amount.

Tom’s company also re-imagined and renovated the original Gruber Mansion into a refined clubhouse complex that preserved the property’s historical character while introducing modern amenities. The facilities include elegant locker rooms, a full restaurant and bar, banquet and meeting rooms, outdoor terraces overlooking the course, and a fully equipped golf shop. In addition, Tom’s team constructed a new maintenance facility on the property, procured all maintenance equipment, hired and trained the operational staff, and turned the entire facility over to the club on opening day.

Working hand-in-hand with ownership, Tom delivered a seamless private golf experience that balances natural beauty with technical excellence—earning Bellewood recognition for both its strategic design and the grace of its setting. As a reflection of his commitment to preserving the estate’s natural beauty, Tom’s company transplanted more than 600 dogwood trees across the property to enhance the landscape’s charm and continuity.

Tom also directed the initial clubhouse operations, personally hiring and training all staff before turning over full operations to the club at opening.

Result: A ground-up private golf club conceived, designed, and built under one unified vision—transforming a storied Pennsylvania estate into the acclaimed Bellewood Golf Club.
