Callicoon Hills Resort – Renovations, Additions, and Redesign of Resort Grounds — Catskill Mountains, New York
Set in the scenic foothills of the Catskills, Callicoon Hills Resort represents a comprehensive transformation led by Tom Drauschak, who guided the full redesign and reconstruction of this historic hospitality property into a modern destination resort.
Tom directed an extensive replanning of the resort grounds, including new guest traffic patterns, regraded access roads, and newly designed parking areas to improve circulation, arrival experience, and overall site aesthetics. His redesign emphasized both beauty and function, enhancing the natural character of the property while optimizing guest flow and operational efficiency.
As part of the revitalization, Tom introduced new glamping site features and facilities, expanding the resort’s outdoor experience and integrating contemporary accommodations with the landscape’s rustic charm. He also oversaw the renovation of all onsite sewer and water facilities, plus electric utility upgrades, ensuring the infrastructure matched the resort’s elevated guest standards.
A highlight of the project is the newly created yoga and fitness studio, positioned to capture panoramic views of the surrounding hills — blending architectural simplicity with a deep connection to nature.
Result: A revitalized Catskills destination — reimagined for today’s travelers — where Tom Drauschak’s ‘on the fly’ design and construction leadership brought together resort elegance, outdoor adventure, and restorative wellness in one cohesive master plan.
