Stonewall Golf Course

Stonewall Golf Course — Chester County, Pennsylvania

Tom Drauschak and his company provided all civil engineering, permitting, golf course construction, and clubhouse design and construction for the creation of Stonewall Golf Course — a 186-acre facility located along the exceptional waters of French Creek, today recognized among America’s Top-100 Private Golf Clubs.

Under a single turn-key, lump-sum contract, Tom delivered the entire 18-hole championship course and full practice facility within 12 months — without a single cost overrun. The contract expressly required construction “to a quality equal to Merion Golf Club, Pennsylvania,” a standard fully achieved and documented in writing by ownership.

Tom personally managed all civil engineering, site planning, and regulatory approvals, including township, county, and PADEP permits. He coordinated with several leading golf architects, plus golf professionals Jay Sigel and Ted McKenzieand club Directors John Snyder, and Dick Flannery — to integrate design refinements and bring their collective vision to life on site. Remarkably, this first golf course project of Tom’s became the first in Pennsylvania history to be completed without a single environmental violation.

Beyond course construction, Tom repurposed the original dairy barns into a world-class clubhouse complex, designing the full layout of men’s and women’s locker rooms, restaurant and bar, kitchen, banquet and meeting rooms, overnight guest accommodations, and the pro shop. He also designed and built all maintenance facilities, selected and procured the maintenance equipment, oversaw grow-in operations through opening day, and turned over the trained staff to Stonewall Golf Club.

The project scope further included the entrance roadway, parking facilities, landscaping, and on-site wastewater treatment plant. Every phase — from first permit to opening day — was executed under Tom’s direct leadership, blending engineering precision with creative design and flawless cost control.

Result: A nationally recognized private golf course — delivered ahead of schedule, to championship standards, and at zero additional cost to contract.
